"Detritus dance" follows three digesters as they process the closet of a recently deceased elderly woman. The space is set up with lamps and bags of detritus, consisting of old clothing, bras, bed sheets, and scraps of fabric. The performers have moments as worms and moments as people. They move through fragmented memories, exploring desire, regret, confusion, and hunger. There is dancing, stillness, text, dress-up, and singing. The work explores how worms - their indifference, ability to transform, and connection to grief - both complicate and compliment the process of aging and femininity.
