Detritus Dance

A new live performance. Premiering in 2026.

“new jersey-based child/Detritus Dance” is an experimental dance performance. Using four performers, the space is set up with a table, lamp, and a pile of detritus, consisting of old clothing, bras, kitchen timers, and scraps of fabric. The dancers have moments as worms and moments as people. They move through fragmented memories, exploring desire, regret, confusion, and hunger. There is dancing, stillness, text, dress-up, and yelling. The work explores how worms - their indifference, ability to transform, and connection to grief - both complicate and compliment the process of childhood and femininity.
